Interview with Claudia Crocchianti on "Tivoli City" magazine

What does painting represent for you?

After photography and digital art, painting has reinvigorated my propensity to make art with creative energy, it has become a way to represent and describe the surroundings. The paintings become the synthesis of a personal reflection in visualizing the investigated reality.

In this last period her works are exhibited in various Italian galleries, any details on this?

After the difficult period caused by the pandemic, galleries and museums have resumed, albeit with considerable difficulty, to create artistic events. Some of my works are exhibited in this period at the “Il Collezionista” gallery in Rome, “Imago Ars” in Venice and “MIIT Museum” in Turin.

In the first months of next year I should return to exhibit abroad, New York, London and Monte Carlo are scheduled, except for new lockdowns due to Covid.

What techniques does it use?

I like to experiment, so I'm not a fan of a single technique. I consider art a true form of expressive freedom even in the methods and tools used. Among my works there are oil paintings, acrylics and watercolors, although acrylic colors, due to their peculiarity, are the ones that favor the brilliance and contrast of colors the most and therefore closest to my way of painting. According to the result I try to get, I use brushes, spatulas, sponges, sometimes my fingers indifferently.

Which colors do you prefer?

I consider colors the equivalent of the momentary mood experienced, so it remains difficult for me to choose among the many, yet blue and all its shades have always fascinated me.

Will you return to exhibit in Tivoli, your city and this is present in some of your works?

It is not scheduled but I do not exclude it, I would like to, it is the city of my roots and my childhood. Although not as often as I would like, I always go back there with joy, affection and, I do not hide it, with a little healthy nostalgia for the past.

No, Tivoli is not present in any of my works but I take it as a suggestion for new ideas to be implemented and with the opportunity to spend time in our beloved town.
